Learning Nudge: The Email
You’ve likely heard it before. Tone matters in written communication. Texts and emails are great for conveying information. But when they miss the mark on tone, it can lead to frustration, anger and conflict. This is especially true now that so many people are working from home or in a hybrid workplace that physically separates colleagues for some or all of the work week.
This session’s Learning objectives:
In this learning nudge you will see a typical workplace scenario: communication that is broadcast to all employees, or only to specific groups, to address upcoming changes and new norms.

Have you ever sent an email or text message to someone that caused them to feel anxious or confused, even though that wasn’t your intention? The goal of this learning module is to empower you to communicate with clarity, and in a way that is never tone deaf.
Personal Reflections:
Think about a time when you sent an email, perhaps to communicate some kind of change, that would have turned out better if you had communicated in a different way.
